Its been good experience as far as I'm concerned.
What do you like best about the product?
Being Gitlab an open source project complete transparency. Best thing about Gitlab is that it provides complete DevOps workflow cycle. Now i don't need to integrate mutiple services to my DevOps cycle.
What do you dislike about the product?
My main pet peev with Gitlab is it's user interface. Sometimes it's confusing to navigate and it alot slower. And build times seems like take more times than they should.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly gitlab provides a complete DevOps cycle. It reduces complexity. As of don't think that it provides as much cost benefits to as much i thought but still it fullfils its purpose well.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and very intuitive UI. Navigation is simple. Configuring and managing code base is easy. It has very nice CI/CD management.
What do you dislike about the product?
Searching through pipelines needs to be improved.

Code integration and deployment across multiple environments with the help of gitlab pipelines.

What do you like best about the product?
When we started back with Gitlab a few years back, this was the only platform offering free private repositories for unlimited users. This was the deal-breaker for us as being a startup, we can't afford to spend too much on tools at the start of our software development.
What do you dislike about the product?
Recently they have renamed master branch to 'main,' and this is causing little confusion among our developers who are used to working with master. But I think this is not a big issue we will adapt over time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are automating our development and deployment workflow, and a built-in issue tracker and webhooks came in handy when integrating with our internal support software.

What do you like best about the product?
I liked how I can have unlimited private repositories without having to buy a premium subscription. I also liked how I can view project development charts, and how highly secure it is.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is difficult to manage code reviews for first-timers so my interns had a bit of a learning curve for it. Also, the pro version is a bit expensive for small startups to afford

I could keep my repositories private and preserve my intellectual property without having to pay any premium membership fees which are there for other apps like Github.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Gitlab is a similar tool to Github, I mainly use it for version control but a lot of my friends also use it for DevOps. So you can use it for a variety of test cases

Best tool for Code Versioning and CI/CD process
What do you like best about the product?
GitLab is an excellent tool for versioning our code changes. It has beneficial features like inbuilt support for CI/CD where we directly deploy and test our applications. It provides excellent security, and multiple teams can work together and build robust software.
What do you dislike about the product?
After using GitLab, I can say that it's a little expensive when we look into the cost side. They can provide better documentation on how to use and integrate others apps like third-party apps, CI/CD documentation.

While building a software application, we need to make frequent changes which we need to track, and to achieve this functionality, GitLab helps me do this very quickly and thoroughly.
For Deployment purposes, Gitlab provides CI/CD support to configure our deployment server to deploy all the latest releases directly.
It provides support to Kubernetes, which we can deploy in a very efficient way.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using GitLab for more than 50 people. It's being used as an SCM tool and for deploying the code to the server with the inbuild CI/CD tool. It also does the SAST scan of every piece of code by default.
One of good code management system
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to create a branch. push the commits and share within the peers. A good code versioning system so you don't need to worry about new commits.
What do you dislike about the product?
it is paid now :(. Merge, cherry-picking the commits screws the master branch. Making the user experience more friendly will help.
