Most suitable product for all kinds of needs
What do you like best about the product?
GitLab is one of the most widely used source control management tools available right now. It is complete, stable and does not require local hosting. It is also the largest home to open source communities on the Internet.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found any drawbacks with GitLab yet. Content and project security is a concern, but I'm sure you have a good reputation for managing them with your firewalls.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Thanks to GitLab, we can manage our large code base seamlessly, integrating a CI/CD pipeline with ease. I have trained over 3000 students on GitLab and used it for multiple clients with no issues and it is one of the most seamless products of its kind.
Developer's best friend
What do you like best about the product?
GitLab is secure, improves collaboration, and is free most of the time. Easy to use basic feature set. Milestones address any difficulties that are preventing the project from moving forward. What I like about GitLab is the integration. Very easy to use tools and very intuitive interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no major feature that we can point to and say is bad. Although sometimes organizing an icon can be difficult for first time users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use GitLab as a version control hosting service as it is easy to use with many features that streamline the development process for individual and team developers.

hard to understand the flow of gitlab for freshers who just trying to use gitlab

Project management, code reviews, project task implementations, bug reporting, bug resolvation, task assignments.
GitLab Dev experience
What do you like best about the product?
Gitlab is best in terms of managing code. The best part is even if a developer commits the code then they have to send a request to merge their code to the main branch. This helps prevent unnecessary check-ins to the main branch.
What do you dislike about the product?
Integrating it with Visual Studio is not easy compared to TFS. There are different extensions and sometimes it causes issues while committing the code via Visual studio.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used GitLab to develop our client's project using its other features like comparing the code. Checking the history and finally creating different branches for different modules.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are planning to use GitLab then I would recommend you to understand ut from scratch. Like how your existing project can be migrated and how to set up a pipeline. If you simply try to learn how to commit the code and set up a new branch then you may struggle a bit. Once you understand code migration to Gitlab from scratch then it will be a piece of cake for you.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy interface, it easily incorporates ci CD pipeline structures in it, you can i tegrate with kubernetes, Terraform for deployment of your company project

The color schema is not good, it needs better branching represetation

Works well for version control systems. Financially it helps as it is a one step thing to incorporate pre production and post production things

What do you like best about the product?
Simple UI. Large userbase. Good Documentation .Easy to use.

A bit costly for premium advanced features.

Gitlab, the ideal devops platform for getting the job done
What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is good. All the tabs and menu options are well placed. Easy to find what a user is looking for. I have also used Azure Devops platform and felt that this is a great alternative.
What do you dislike about the product?
While using Gitlab I faced some issues related to the Gitlab account access. I faced that issue in Firefox browser but it was working fine on Chrome. Looked like something related to the cookies but couldn't figure it out. Tried restarting the system but all in vain. Ultimately setting the right ssl headers solved the issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Gitlab we can make use of a highly functional devops platform. It provides issue tracking on a continuous integration continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline. It provides the functionality to automate the devops activities like designing, building, testing and deploying.
Best Source code management tool
What do you like best about the product?
It's the best and perfect source code management tool we have ever used. We can create as many public or private repositories to manage our work. It is very useful and helpful in automatic works and CI/CD development.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform is very much updated but I think that some premium features pricing is much higher than other market competitors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides a very attractive and deep visualization of the overall project structure that helps to focus only on product development. The automation and CI/CD integration support enable the developers to mainly focus on the code developemnt.
Best Tool for CI/CD and Version Control for SaaS platforms!
What do you like best about the product?
It has a seamless user experience and has notifications for each pull and push request for the code. The visual part of the merge conflicts is very useful and also has very easy CI/CD integration.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does not have much support for nodejs and python applications. The review process is a bit complicated for gitlab. Apart from that, there should be some sort of documentation for CI/CD integration

The following problems are being solved using gitlab: 1) Automated build, testing and development, release operations and management, easy collaboration over different teams.
