Simple, Cloud-Native Backups with Strong Ransomware Protection
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Druva Data Security Cloud is the combination of simplicity and strong security delivered through a fully cloud-native model.
In day-to-day use, the biggest advantage is how little overhead it requires. Once policies are configured, backups for endpoints, servers, and Microsoft 365 largely run on autopilot. There’s no infrastructure to maintain, no storage planning, and very little routine “backup babysitting,” which frees up IT time for more strategic work.
At the same time, it doesn’t sacrifice resilience. The built-in ransomware protection, immutable backups, and air-gapped cloud architecture provide a strong safety net against both cyber threats and accidental data loss. That balance—low operational effort with high recovery confidence—is a major differentiator compared to traditional backup systems.
Overall, the standout value is that it turns backup from a hands-on infrastructure burden into a managed, scalable service that just works consistently in the background.

What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike most about Druva Data Security Cloud is that some areas feel less flexible than you would expect from an otherwise modern, cloud-native platform.
The biggest example is reporting and customization. While the default dashboards are useful, they don’t always go deep enough for more complex environments or compliance-driven reporting needs. In those cases, you often end up exporting data and building your own reports outside the platform, which adds extra steps and reduces efficiency.
Another limitation is the restore experience for large or complex recoveries. File-level restores are straightforward and fast, but larger restores or highly granular recovery scenarios can feel less intuitive and sometimes slower than expected. Visibility into progress and control over advanced restore scenarios could be improved.
Finally, broader application and integration depth is an area where there’s room for growth. Druva covers core workloads like Microsoft 365 and endpoints very well, but organizations with more specialized applications or deeper integration needs (for example with SIEM tools, ticketing systems, or niche enterprise apps) may find the ecosystem less extensive than they’d like.
Overall, these drawbacks don’t outweigh the benefits, but they do show up more clearly in complex or highly regulated environments where flexibility and deep customization matter.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Druva Data Security Cloud is primarily solving the challenges of complex backup management, increasing cyber risk (especially ransomware), and the operational overhead of maintaining traditional data protection infrastructure.
One of the biggest problems it addresses is the burden of legacy backup systems. Previously, backup operations required managing servers, storage capacity, patching, and ongoing maintenance. Druva removes that entire infrastructure layer by delivering backup as a SaaS platform. This has simplified our operations significantly and reduced the amount of time and expertise needed to keep backups running reliably.
Another key problem it solves is data loss risk and ransomware exposure. With immutable, air-gapped backups stored in the cloud, Druva provides strong protection against malicious deletion, encryption attacks, and accidental data loss. This has materially improved our confidence in recovery scenarios, knowing that backup data remains intact even if production systems are compromised.
It also addresses the challenge of distributed and cloud-first environments. With users working remotely and data spread across endpoints and SaaS applications like Microsoft 365, Druva provides centralized visibility and consistent policy enforcement. This ensures that data is protected regardless of where it resides or how users are connected.
The benefit to us has been a combination of reduced operational workload, improved security posture, and faster recovery capability. IT staff spend less time managing backups and more time on strategic initiatives, while the organization benefits from stronger resilience and quicker recovery from incidents. Overall, it has simplified data protection while improving both efficiency and risk management.

Reliable, Low-Maintenance Backups with Helpful Quarterly Check-Ins
What do you like best about the product?
It works well. Once jobs are set there is very little need for intervention. We only have a few job errors throughout the year and usually not caused by Druva. I also appreciate the quarterly check-ins to make sure our account is running smoothly and we are informed of new features.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only complaint I can think of is that Druva cannot backup a Hyper-V VM stored on a host that is part of a cluster.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Backing up our servers, endpoints and Microsoft cloud applications. It also adds another layer of security by ensuring our backups are not compromised. If they are, we have features that make restores less painful.
Effortless Security with Seamless Integration

I like that Druva Data Security Cloud is really easy to use with straightforward products. The ease of integration of all the tooling works really well, which saves us a lot of time and effort, especially for a small team like ours. Easy-to-Manage Backups with Clear Reporting and Good Support
What do you like best about the product?
We’ve been using Druva for about 2.5 years in our K-12 school district (around 4,200 students), mainly to back up our on-prem VMware environment and file servers.
The biggest improvement for us was moving off our older Dell backup system. It was hard to use and never felt very reliable. Druva has been much more consistent and easier to manage. The console is clean, the reporting is clear, and it’s easy to check backup status without digging through a bunch of menus.
I also really like how simple file-level restores are. If someone deletes a file or needs something recovered, I don’t have to restore an entire VM just to grab one item. That saves a lot of time.
We did have backup proxy failures twice a little after initial deployment, but support and documentation helped us get it resolved. It hasn’t happened in quite a while and the system has been stable for the past couple of years. Support has been professional whenever we’ve needed them. Our Customer Success Manager has also been proactive — they reached out when we were trending high on credit usage and helped us optimize things. We were able to lower our usage and may even end up with a surplus, which is important in a school district with tight budgets.

What do you dislike about the product?
The only real issue we ran into was the backup proxy failures early on, shortly after deployment. It took some troubleshooting with support to get fully resolved, but once it was addressed, it hasn’t been a recurring problem.
Since then, it’s been pretty steady from an operational standpoint.
Since then, it’s been pretty steady from an operational standpoint.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Druva gives us reliable, centralized backups for our VMware servers and file shares without having to maintain additional backup hardware on-site.
In a school district environment, protecting staff and administrative data is critical, but we don’t have a large IT team to manage something overly complex. Compared to our previous solution, Druva has simplified backup management and given us better visibility into what’s protected.
We haven’t had to perform a full production restore, but the consistent backups and easy file-level recovery give us confidence in our disaster recovery posture. For a lean IT team supporting thousands of students and staff, that reliability and simplicity go a long way.

A Data Management and Compliance Dream in One Place
What do you like best about the product?
The one place to backup all my different types of data on different platforms and Druva continues to add more features making my backup management so much better than the many other solutions I have used over the past 20 plus years. A single place to go and see all my data. A single place to go to search for files that we must purge. A single place to go trace the other users a file may have been shared with. This has been a win as far as solutions for us and it not just a backup solution, its a data management and compliance dream.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface can always be improved and I have already seen great changes over the years.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have purge compliance obligations with the government work we do and it is made so much easier with Druva.
Our Endpoints and M365 workloads are secured with Druva
What do you like best about the product?
The centralized visibility across workloads, strong security features like immutability and ransomware protection, and consistent backup experience across M365, cloud workloads, and endpoints stand out. Additionally, Druva’s support and customer success engagement have been responsive and helpful, especially during critical situations. Overall, it’s a scalable and well-architected platform that aligns well with modern cloud-first strategies. Easy to use and we use Druva on daily basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
No issues for now. Everything works like a charm, protecting our endpoints and M365 datasources.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our Endpoints and M365 has been secured and protected using 256 encrption using Druva in-flight and in-trasit as well
