What do you like best about the product?
The product is very easy to implement and create dashboard quickly. Support team is extremely knowledgeable and responsive to issues that arise with the software.
What do you dislike about the product?
None that I can think of at this moment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently we are using Sisense for all of our Financial reporting bringing together Sales, Payroll and CRM data. Soon we will be pulling in other data streams and building out the product to become our overall "One Stop Shop" reporting tool for the company.

What do you dislike about the product?
Really just nit-picking at this point. Joining data sources is only an "inner join." Easy enough to workaround with data normalization and/or custom SQL tables (that do allow outer joins).
When we were on-prem, we relied heavily on emailed reports with PDF attachments. The reports within the email body looked fine, but the PDF formatting wasn't the greatest. This may be resolved in newer versions. Since we've moved to the cloud, users can access reports external to the network on their phone - the responsive site looks great. No need for PDFs.

We used Sisense on-prem for a 3 year contract. This was the first BI tool for our company as they were realizing the value of a data driven business. We were able to automate many of our manual operational reports that we were previously not able to automate. As a transportation company, trailer load percentage is vital - We are able to use sisense to see real-time load factor as the trips are being planned, rather than after the fact and hoping for better results "next time." All of our reports were internal until recently. With the need for customer facing reports, we chose to extend our contract going with Sisense's cloud solution. We are still in the early stages there, but enjoying the results. Sisense uses AWS for their cloud platform - zero downtime so far and the performance is much better than our on-prem.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When we first started, connecting to DB2 was a bit of a task (connection strings), but that has been resolved in later versions. I would just highly recommend giving Sisense a shot. I had never heard of it prior to using it, but it far exceeds expectations.
Amazing product with great customer service

The cubes and the ability to join multiple sources within a cube
What do you dislike about the product?
The memory management on sisense server.

Ease of use both for developers and also business users
What do you like best about the product?
Sisense is a really powerful analytics tool that allows connecting to several data sources easily on the fly and run complex calculations without the knowledge of SQL
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Sisense offers better mobile functionalities
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Sisense across several cross functional teams like Sales, Marketing, Finance, Distribution, Compliance for a wide range of business analytics.
Ease of launch the platform for wide range of audience.

Best vendor I have ever worked with
What do you like best about the product?
Technology, functionality, versatility, ease of use/UX, quality of training, top notch consulting talent, customer service. We interviewed a dozen vendors and Sisense was the clear winner. We continue to be surprised and impressed by the platform. It's truly helping us grow!
What do you dislike about the product?
We have a very unique use case and would like to see a faster features roll out timeline, particularly exporting to PowerPoint. However, we are leverage Sisense in a non-traditional way and the system has been extremely flexible to meet our needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data aggregation, analytics, summaries/recaps.
Great BI solution to transform, consolidate and present all your data
What do you like best about the product?
Sisense gives the ability to connect to various data sources and transform based on the reporting requirement. Plenty of visualization options available and several options to customize anything. The drag and drop designing works excellent even for non-technical users.
What do you dislike about the product?
The elasticube's/data model's re-usability is limited. Depending on the requirements, you end up designing several data models for the same data to achieve a different view on the data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main issue was to consolidate the data from all acquisitions and sister companies. It's very easy to connect to different types of data sources. The SQL functions available to develop data model are extensive and helps transform data. The web-based solution is extremely robust and requires little learning effort.
People love what I'm doing but it's not without it's efforts.
What do you like best about the product?
I think the column data type conversions are neat.
What do you dislike about the product?
Off the top of my head. . . .the documentation is wide but very shallow. For all the magic and insights Sisense provides people still have infinite expectations - that's on our end. I also dislike the singular INNER join options without having to write a custom query.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Inventory, shipping and order fulfillment inefficiencies. Analyzing our call center data in new ways as well financial tracking and replacing custom built reports.
Great product and above-and-beyond support
What do you like best about the product?
- We picked Sisense due to the ease of use (Single stack, intuitive UI) and that has proven to be as good as we hoped
- Support has been absolutely great. In addition to help-desk level support being knowledgeable and supportive, the customer representatives assigned to our account really do go out of their way to help us be more successful as an organization.
- Once we got the baseline hardware setup resourced appropriately, we have been able to add more load without degradation in performance

What do you dislike about the product?
- We have had our share of bugs to work through. If support wasn't so good, this would be more of an issue, but the great support usually means this is something we can work through.
- Some really exciting new features related to AI and other processing send data off the server. As a healthcare shop, we are unable to take advantage of some of these features so it would be helpful if those services could be covered by a BAA.
- There are some little things, like folder ownership, that seem minor but impact our workflows. I think Sisense has these on the roadmap and I have confidence they will get done eventually, but they are working on so many advanced features that I worry these little things will take some time.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- We have been able to leverage Sisense to improve outcomes for our healthcare customers in a number of areas: operations, financial, and clinical.
- We are able to securely operate with multiple tenants, giving each their own protected, secure space on the server but also make it easy for our analysts to support multiple customers

Recommendations to others considering the product:
- I don't know much about the new periscope integration, but previously Sisense didn't have a lot of ETL capabilities so we do that outside the system. Make sure you have that capability
- Be ready to spend some time with support. They are great, but you need to have that time set aside.

Sisense is a very nice BI tool.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the Elasticube Manager because you can connect data from multiple sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that when you create a pivot table it automatically sort in ascending order.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In our company we don't have a data warehouse or a data lake yet and we are using sisense to connect our databases.
Exceptional BI Tool That's Constantly Expanding
What do you like best about the product?
The thing about Sisense that I like best is that they're constantly improving and adding features. Obviously their acquisition of Periscope is a massive part of that, but even before the acquisition they were constantly improving and adding things at no additional cost. Specifically, they've continually improved their pivot table widget to increase performance. When you're running a pivot that manages so much data, it's nice that they're aim to increase performance without being asked or without any additional cost. There's also some great built in advanced analytics options, including regression analyses. There are a vast number of native connections and a lot more available utilizing CData connections. Sisense Custom SQL is intuitive and powerful and allows you a lot of flexibility transforming data within the tool to save on database/ETL costs/bandwidth. And Sisense support is incredibly helpful as well with generally quick turn around times - and almost immediate turn around times for business critical issues. There are so many features provided by Sisense that allow it to be the one stop platform of a data driven company.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the very few things I dislike about Sisense is the lack of support for community created plugins. That's probably unfair since they allow the integration of community created plugins in the first place. I also understand that there are a lot and it's not their obligation or responsibility to manage them, but there are a few that are very helpful and very frequently used and it would be impressive if they'd adopt them and take them on as a supported feature. I also wish there were some more customization options in regards to the Sisense layout and using it as the end user facing reporting platform. Sisense looks very clean and is very intuitive, but it's obvious its primary function is to be embedded into other software. Currently we just have a Production folder where the organization can find reports ready for consumption and having some kind of end user landing page that was different from development would help put Sisense over the top.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to automate almost all of our manual reporting which saves countless working hours across the company and allows several departments instant access to raw data and data visualizations to help them make real-time business decisions. We have multiple dashboards support our call center teams - sales and customer service. We have marketing dashboards that serve both our internal marketing specialists as well as some of our external partners so we can be aligned on expectations and performance. Specifically, our summer sales force is a massive part of our growth strategy and currently we're able to track our summer sales reps from their recruitment through their assignment and arrival at an area all the way through their sales performance which allows for insights into specific bottle necks and staffing management. We're utilizing Sisense in every aspect of our business.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sisense is unique in that it serves the needs of robust, established businesses as well as small, start-up companies and has pricing to match. While it may not be the absolute best in class for larger customers, the value is worth consideration. So far there has been almost no use cases for which Sisense doesn't have a solution, though some implementations are more difficult than others. For smaller or younger organizations, Sisense is an exceptional partner for beginning a journey to being a data driven company. Their onboarding process is well structured and they are as involved as you'd like them to be and they aim to immediately provide ROI from day one. Our preference is to rely more on our database connections and do more of our data transformations using SQL, but their options for creating custom tables and fields within cube models are tremendous. You could do all your data cleansing and transformation within Sisense if need be, and for data sources that require no transformation they provide a LiveConnect option as well which operates more similarly to other major BI tools. Sisense is also data source and product agnostic, which allows for a lot of flexibility. I would definitely recommend considering Sisense as your BI solution.
