    UdaySiddu

A user-friendly tool that offers an exceptional level of stability

  • January 11, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use the solution in my company since, in our day-to-day life, we need Windows OS to operate and open different types of applications, like Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, and Outlook.

How has it helped my organization?

From a benefit perspective, I rate the Windows OS a ten out of ten.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature of the product is that it is a user-friendly tool with all the basic features, especially compared to other operating systems.

What needs improvement?

Remote access should be improved in the product. In Microsoft Windows 10, screen sharing is an area of concern where improvements are needed, as such an option is not user-friendly. If I want to connect another user to my laptop or computer, it should be easy to connect.

Microsoft must automate the part involving patch updates for Windows 10.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Windows 10 for five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a scalable solution. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.

More than 100 users in my company use the product.

There are no plans to increase the use of the solution in the future.

How are customer service and support?

I rate the technical support an eight out of ten.

How was the initial setup?

The product's initial setup phase is a ten out of ten, where ten means that it needs an easy setup process.

I rate the product's deployment phase a seven out of ten, where one is easy to process, and ten is difficult to process. Every time when our company receives patch updates, the management needs to update it manually.

The solution is deployed on an on-premises model.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Windows 10 is a cheaply priced product.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend the solution to those who plan to use it as it is a user-friendly product that anyone can use.

I rate the overall product a ten out of ten.

What is our primary use case?

We used Windows 10 for workstations on operations or corporate offices.

What is most valuable?

Windows 10 is a user-friendly operating system.

What needs improvement?

The solution should improve the updates because the computers have a boot error whenever they release an upgrade.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Windows 10 for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We sometimes couldn't operate the system because of the error on updates.

I rate the solution a nine out of ten for stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Less than 1,000 users were using the solution in our organization.

I rate Windows 10 ten out of ten for scalability.

What about the implementation team?

The solution's installation and configuration took around one hour. We deploy the solution manually. Since we don't have automatic deployment, we install the operating system one step at a time.

What was our ROI?

Since Windows 10 is the only operating system we use, it is very useful for us in the office to run all applications.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We pay a licensing fee for Windows 10, which is too expensive.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, I rate the solution ten out of ten.

    Israel Ayobamiji

A modern interface providing users with an upgraded and user-friendly operating system experience

  • December 15, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use it as the operating system.

What is most valuable?

It showcases a diverse range of applications without consuming excessive storage.

What needs improvement?

When there are updates, the system should automatically identify and remove any unnecessary previous features that are no longer needed, ensuring that they don't take up space on the storage media during this period. A reduction in pricing aligned with the local exchange rate would indeed be a welcomed improvement.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with it for approximately six years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I haven't faced any major downtime. All that's required is regular updates to ensure the system remains secure.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support service management is satisfactory for me.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward. The sequential instructions help you enable the follow-along feature, ensuring a smooth progression until you reach the final stages of the installation process.

What about the implementation team?

The installation process is contingent on product specifications detailing RAM and processor requirements. Larger systems with significant resources tend to take more time, while smaller installations, say two or four gigabytes, are completed noticeably easier.

What was our ROI?

I recognize the value it provides, as it protects me from attacks.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is on the higher end, especially in Nigeria where the exchange rate is considerably high, making it challenging to afford such products.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, I would rate it eight out of ten.

    Alaa Asabeh

A user-friendly interface with a variety of features and robust security but with significant update-related issues and forced system updates

  • November 02, 2023

We made the transition to Windows 11 for our daily use, and we've found it to be a more efficient and lighter operating system. It appears to offer improved security and flexibility.

What is most valuable?

Among the most valuable aspects are the graphics tools and the integrated security features, with a notably effective firewall. It's a stable system overall.

What needs improvement?

Sometimes, upgrades may fail, leading to system crashes or other unexpected issues. There have been instances of performance concerns and occasional hiccups when dealing with Huawei's customized version of Windows 10.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using it for four years.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate its support services eight out of ten.

A mature product that is available for free in the market that needs to reduce unnecessary updates

  • November 02, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use Windows 10 in my workplace as it is our main operating system.

What is most valuable?

I have never considered which features I found most valuable in Windows 10. At my workplace, we use Windows because we have no other choice.

What needs improvement?

Microsoft needs to stop experimenting with different options and settle down, especially when it comes to Windows 10. If something broken in Windows 10 gets fixed in a year or two by Microsoft, then it gets broken again in the next update.

In Windows 10, you can access a particular setting page in two clicks. In Windows 11 eleven, you get to the same setting page you used in Windows 10 after four or five clicks. When Microsoft comes up with Windows 12, it will be six to eight clicks, meaning that with each update, it gets complicated.

In Windows 10, you can access a particular setting page with two clicks. In Windows 11 eleven, you get to the same setting page you used in Windows 10 after four or five clicks. When Microsoft comes up with Windows 12, it will take six to eight clicks.

After Windows 95, Microsoft changed everything drastically. If you were a user of an Apple computer and you also used macOS 10 around 15 years ago, you may have seen how Apple comes up with new versions, but it still looks the same. The person who was using macOS 10 can easily use the latest macOS. If you pick a person who has used Windows 95 and you give him a computer with Windows 11, he will be lost. Windows 10 and Windows 11 are not different from each other, but Microsoft keeps adding differences. If you go back into the past, then you will see that five years ago, there were a lot of differences between Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, and Windows 11. In general, most of the time, the updates in Windows 10 bring problems instead of solving them, making it an area requiring improvements.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Windows 10 for seven to eight years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Stability-wise, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Windows 10 is an independent operating system running on a single computer.

Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

In our organization, there are 300 computers, out of which 200 computers would be on Windows 10 and 100 computers would be on Windows 11.

How are customer service and support?

The solution's technical support is good. I rate the technical support an eight out of ten.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have experience with Windows 10 and Windows 11.

How was the initial setup?

The product can be deployed in about half an hour.

The solution is deployed on an on-premises model.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My organization gets Windows 10 for free with our computers.

What other advice do I have?

Windows 10 is an okay operating system that is mature. The best thing about Windows 10 is that you can run anything on it.

I rate the overall solution a seven out of ten.
