Acumatica from a Construction/Union Employer Standpoint
What do you like best about the product?
As a cloud-based platform with all sorts of modules and processes that an employer in any field could customize and utilize, Acumatica has been a significant switch from a software program that simply cannot keep up with the constant changes and updates in the tech sphere.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some limitations with out-of-the-box features, but the support team and our implementation team have been reliable in formulating a plan to get to where we need as a customer. High hopes for Acumatica's future based simply on the adaptive functionality and customizable nature of the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Union employers may run into limited calculations that do not accurately reflect the specific fringe benefit packages their CBAs require.

What do you like best about the product?
Acumatica is easy to learn and use and can be customized so that the data you need access to simultaneously are displayed together on one page or accessed via a tab on that page. Since the initial implementation of Acumatica (printed orders and traditional warehousing), much of the physical storage in our warehouse has been automated, which has been integrated with Acumatica.
What do you dislike about the product?
Acumatica is an ERP, not a WMS, so it does not track items in our warehouse well in real time. If you need Acumatica to keep track of your inventory in an actual warehouse setting, get the add-on WMS program.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our previous software was no longer going to be supported, so the people who eventually became our IT department shopped around and eventually decided on Acumatica. Aside from the benefits realized in our offices, Acumatica immediately benefitted all of our operations by providing easy access to all information needed in the day-to-day business at the warehouse.
A malleable product & a company that actually listens to customers
What do you like best about the product?
Acumatica's core product is strong with accounting and finance, and the industry modules provide a tremendous opportunity for integration across operational departments! The low code and no code customization tools are game-changing! The generic inquiries are incredibly powerful for data gathering and running automating processes. Most importantly, Acumatica is truly dedicated to innovating the product and continuous improvement! The community site is robust and vibrant. Questions are answered promptly, and feedback ideas are upvoted--many are included in the product in upcoming releases.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Field Service module is behind in integration with the core modules since it is still only a few years old. Stronger dispatching capabilities are needed--the "Calendar Board" should be the best tool in the module for dispatchers/service coordinators, but it is currently too basic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have automated many processes and streamlined business operations in multiple areas of our organization. We have built customization with and without custom development to shape the ERP for our business use! This is an upgrade from previous ERPs in which what you see is what you get.
Acumatica is great however we have experienced many glitches.
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use. Navigation and searchability is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have ran into many glitches using 2020R2, and the only solution offered is to upgrade to 2021R2
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating business events that utilize Import scenarios have been very beneficial.

What do you like best about the product?
The customization of Acumatica allows our business to fit the tool to our needs, instead of our needs to the tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some processes take a long time to complete, number of clicks to move through a workflow can be a hindrance as well.

Consolidation of business technology tools. Removing siloed databases.

I like the built in features and the fact we can customize things for our view

Some functions cannot be customized. Also some items you need deep trainign to understand

The overall speed. The ease of use. The CRM is very usable

Have it look more intuitive, like using a Microsft product.

We are solving not having two ERP Systems. A lot cheaper than running two systems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure that you can do all your processes right down to the smallest jobs.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the versatility of the program. Acumatica seems to help every corner of your business.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of anything I "dislike". Considering how robust the software is, it does have a good level of complexity to it. It may be a little intimidating to new users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Acumatica to fill the role of several software platforms we were using before. We've replaced Avionte, Avpro, and a couple of other programs we used to use, all with Acumatica now. We still have old inventory management software I would love to see replaced by Acumatica.
Exactly What We Needed
What do you like best about the product?
Coming from Quickbooks everything was new, and everything was better. I appreciate the granular security settings. I like the ability to access the system from my phone. Setting up branches is a great feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our first VAR was not a good fit and, in many ways, did more harm than good. Acumatica eventually helped us find a new VAR that has been fantastic, but I wish there had been more oversight from Acumatica from the beginning. A monthly email during the first 6 months asking us about our experience may have uncovered the issues sooner and saved us from a lot of added stress and expense.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We reduced the number of manual entries required and streamlined processes in sales, accounting, and inventory management. Our accounting department has been transformed and offers much better visibility.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Spend a lot of time screening your VAR to ensure they have experience with your industry. Be sure your PM is available full-time for the implementation.
