Nessus is good one for internal scanning
What do you like best about the product?
Nessus has advanced scans and scheduling option. Which makes security researchers and Pentesters to schedule scans as per their choice. Advanced option includes scans as based on standards like PCI DSS and others..
What do you dislike about the product?
Nessus doesn't scans indeep when it comes for web application and others..
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps to covers most of the vulnerabilities. Updating their plugins helps us to scans new vulnerabilities as per cve.
Nessus is gamechanger, it helps me to reduce my work pressure

There is nothing to dislike, if i compare it with other tools, i found it as best tool.

After using nessus my work speed increased and i got promoted

The interface is straightforward; there are many preconfigured scan templates available for compliance checks; the software is updated regularly; I can generate report content very quickly

There really isn't anything that I dislike; I have been a long time user and have relied on Nessus for client and personal scans

I use it as part of vulnerability management programs for customers and I use it as part of the discovery stage in penetration testing

I've used Nessus mainly to perform VaPT activities. It is a major time saver

What do you dislike about the product?
I would love if the plugin updates have a better method to be done offline.
I would also appreciate if Tenable rolls out a free scanner with professional features for the community. (I think this wasa discontinued in 2019)

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Continuous Vulnerability Management is simplified. Scheduled scans and extremely detailed PDF and CSV Reports help me automate a major chunk of Assessment.

Nessus should be used by professionals who understand the benefits of automation and importance of vulnerability management in enterprise environment
Does it's job without drama.
What do you like best about the product?
Set and forget, just read the reports and edit systems to scan as needed! The reports are easily readable and all the plugins let you customize scans VERY well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really. Scans are slow, but that's expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping our IT staff on their toes about basic security. Rollouts of new gear are scanned immediately to find basic things like forgotten password changes and open ports.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be prepared to spend a lot of time initially documenting all the systems you want to scan, and then setting up the relevant tests. But once done, it's a cake walk to change things later.

What do you like best about the product?
The software is customizable, does everything we need for our compliance. The support has been fantastic. Always get helpful and knowledgeable assistance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally have to reset the Nessus services but it is an easy fix.

We are required by the Federal Government to scan certain computers. We use the Nessus software to do this.

If you are a small company with lots of emails Nessus gives you the protection you may need

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, to configure, you can trust in the vuln they found, they are where it say in any host, server or webservice you have scaned. Other thing is the number os assets you can scan is more than other where you have to pay per host number, in this you can pay for license and you can scan any number of host in your own network.

Is not easy to analize data from the reports and some times is teddious to find the plugin name or number to find the error or for example, to know if the credentials for the current scan is ok or no
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To know the host in the network (host discover), scan for vulnerabilities in the assets and the web services we have. All the information we need is given by Nessus.

If you are looking for the best vulnerability scanner for host, you have to try Nessus. If you want to know about credentials, blackbox scans, are part of red team or security at home or little bussines you can do a scan to know the vulnerabilities that have you infraestructure (all of them)
