Overview
This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for technical support with a 24-hour response time. Julia built on a minimal CentOS Stream 9 installation, is included in this AMI, repackaged by Easycloud. It provides a pre-configured, high-performance dynamic programming environment, deliberately engineered to eliminate compilation delays and maximize computational throughput for data science, machine learning, and scientific simulations.
Core Features & Integrations
-
Zero-Wait Pre-Compilation: We have pre-installed and pre-compiled the most essential technical computing libraries (DataFrames, CSV, JSON, HTTP, Plots). This directly eliminates the significant "Time To First Plot" (TTFP) and compilation delays often associated with fresh Julia installations.
-
Auto-Scaling Multi-Threading: Unlike standard out-of-the-box installations, this environment is pre-configured with automatic thread detection. It automatically utilizes all available vCPUs on your EC2 instance, maximizing computational throughput immediately upon launch.
-
Standardized Architecture: Julia is cleanly installed in /usr/local following strict Linux Filesystem Hierarchy Standards (FHS). This ensures a pristine global environment while keeping your user-level packages securely isolated.
-
CentOS Stream 9 Foundation: Provides a robust, enterprise-grade underlying OS with deep structural alignment to RHEL, ensuring high security and seamless ecosystem compatibility with AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, and traditional CentOS deployments.
-
Cloud Infrastructure Ready: Equipped with cloud-init for automated provisioning and the Amazon SSM Agent for secure, keyless remote management via AWS Systems Manager.
Key Benefits
-
The Ultimate Data Science Engine: By combining the ease of use of Python and r-base with the execution speed of C/C++, this Julia environment delivers uncompromised performance for mathematical modeling and heavy numerical computing.
-
Ideal Foundation for Modern Data Stacks: A bloat-free, thread-optimized environment ensures maximum compute availability. It acts as a high-performance computation node seamlessly connecting your entire data pipeline and polyglot microservices: from deep learning and MLOps frameworks (TensorFlow, MLflow, PyTorch), big data streaming engines (Spark, Flink), and real-time analytical databases (ClickHouse, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL), to Business Intelligence dashboards (Metabase) and core enterprise backend runtimes (Rust, Python, Node.js, Golang,Ruby).
-
Production Ready & Expert Support: Secured with the latest OS patches. It delivers a highly stable environment, fully supported by comprehensive documentation and fast technical assistance (guaranteed 24-hour response time) to ensure your computational infrastructure runs smoothly without costly downtime.
Highlights
- Julia high-performance minimal installation on CentOS Stream 9.
- CentOS Stream 9 updated to the latest version.
- Expert Support: Backed by comprehensive documentation and fast, professional technical assistance.

64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
