You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Getting Started After Launch
- Launch the AMI with a key pair and security group allowing RDP (port 3389) and any required application ports.
- Attach an IAM role with AmazonSSMManagedInstanceCore policy for Systems Manager access.
- Retrieve your Windows administrator password via the EC2 Console (Actions > Get Windows Password) using your key pair - available approximately 4 minutes after launch.
- Connect via RDP to your instance's public IP or DNS on port 3389.
- Verify CloudWatch Agent is reporting metrics in the CloudWatch console under CWAgent namespace.
- Confirm Systems Manager connectivity in the AWS Systems Manager Fleet Manager console.
- Your instance is operational - estimated time from launch to RDP access is under 5 minutes.
