64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
Version release notes
Initial release of Altibase V8 on AWS Marketplace. This enterprise-grade In-Memory Hybrid DBMS version introduces native JSON data type support (up to 2 GB) conforming to international standards, seamless Apache Kafka integration for real-time streaming data pipelines via custom source/sink connectors, and comprehensive Java and REST API support for modernized application development and NoSQL-style CRUD document access.

Usage instructions
Thank you for choosing Altibase V8 on AWS. This AMI includes an automated initialization script (check_altibase.sh) in the ${HOME} directory that executes automatically upon instance startup to check for an Altibase license file and bring up the database.
-
Connect to your EC2 Instance
Use an SSH client to log into your newly deployed instance using your private key and the default user:
$ssh -i "your-key.pem" rocky@<your-ec2-public-ip>
-
Verify Automatic Startup & Logs
When the instance boots, the startup script checks for your license file and attempts to start the DB. You can check the execution status, success, or failure messages by viewing the initialization log file in the $HOME directory:
$cat ${HOME}/altibase_init.log
-
Manual Management & Environment
To manually start or stop the database, you can use the following standard utilities:
$server start
$server stop
-
Access the Altibase Interactive SQL Utility (iSQL)
To connect to the database and execute SQL commands, use the built-in iSQL utility:
$isql -u sys -p <your_admin_password>
