Overview
This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for support. ORAS CLI is part of the OCI ecosystem and enables developers to treat container registries as general artifact storage systems. Instead of only storing container images, ORAS allows uploading arbitrary files such as machine learning models, Helm charts, and application binaries. It supports commands for pushing, pulling, discovering, and managing artifacts in remote registries. The tool is lightweight, written in Go, and distributed as precompiled binaries for multiple platforms, making installation simple on Linux systems like Ubuntu. With newer versions, ORAS also supports advanced features like artifact backup and restore, improving portability and management of OCI-based content.
Highlights
- Store any file in OCI registries, not just container images
- Lightweight CLI tool with no complex installation needed
- Supports push, pull, backup, and restore of artifacts
