IBP IntelliFlow deploys as a complete, production-ready workflow and approval automation platform into your AWS account via a single CloudFormation stack.
WHAT THIS DEPLOYMENT PROVISIONS:
- AWS Elastic Beanstalk: Docker application on Amazon Linux 2023, auto-scaling behind Application Load Balancer in your VPC's public subnet
- Amazon RDS PostgreSQL 15: Encrypted, Multi-AZ database in private subnets
- Amazon S3: Two buckets, document staging and deployment artifacts
- AWS Step Functions: Approval workflow state machine with retry and error handling
- Amazon SQS: Three queues (workflow events, notifications, dead-letter)
- AWS Secrets Manager: All credentials encrypted (DB, Azure AD, SharePoint, SAP)
- Amazon CloudWatch: Application logs, 365-day audit trail, dashboards, alarms
- All IAM roles provisioned with least-privilege policies , no static credentials
PREREQUISITES:
- Existing VPC with 2+ public subnets (for ALB) and 2+ private subnets (for EC2 and RDS)
- ACM certificate in the same region for HTTPS
- Azure AD App Registration (Tenant ID, Client ID, Client Secret) for SSO
DEPLOYMENT TIME: Approximately 25-35 minutes for a complete stack creation.
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."

STEP 1 - PREREQUISITES Gather before launching: (a) VPC with public and private subnets in 2 AZs, (b) ACM certificate ARN for your domain, (c) Azure AD App Registration with Tenant ID, Client ID, Client Secret. API permissions needed: openid, profile, email, User.Read, GroupMember.Read.All.
STEP 2 - LAUNCH CLOUDFORMATION Go to AWS CloudFormation > Create stack > With new resources. Select Amazon S3 URL and paste the template URL from your subscription confirmation. Stack name example: intelliflow-prod. Fill all parameters. IMPORTANT: AmiId is pre-filled by Marketplace DO NOT change it. DBMasterPassword must be 16+ characters. Acknowledge IAM capabilities checkbox. Click Create stack. Deployment takes 25-35 minutes.
STEP 3 - FIRST-TIME ADMIN SETUP Open the ApplicationURL from CloudFormation Outputs. Sign in with Azure AD credentials. The first user becomes Admin. Go to Admin > Setup Wizard: set company name, map Azure AD groups to IntelliFlow roles (Initiator, Approver, Admin), add master data (brands, regions), configure workflow stages.
STEP 4 - MONITORING CloudWatch Dashboard URL is in CFN Outputs. Audit trail: CloudWatch Logs > /IntelliFlow/AuditTrail (365-day retention). Instance troubleshooting: Systems Manager > Session Manager (no SSH key or bastion needed).
