NMIS - Network Management Implementation & Onboarding on AWS EC2

NMIS (Network Management Information System) is FirstWave's enterprise network management platform, trusted by network operations teams, managed service providers, and IT organisations worldwide to monitor, manage, and report on complex network environments.

This implementation service handles everything from initial EC2 deployment through to a fully configured, production-ready NMIS environment - so your team can focus on running the network, not building the platform.

EC2 deployment and installation
We deploy NMIS on your chosen AWS EC2 instance, configured to your environment's specifications. We work within your AWS account, following AWS security best practices including IAM role configuration, security group setup, and VPC placement.

Device discovery and onboarding
Your network devices are added to NMIS and initial discovery is run, giving you immediate visibility across your environment from day one. We configure SNMP credentials, polling intervals, and device groupings to match your operational requirements.

Dashboard and reporting configuration
Key dashboards and reports are configured to reflect your network topology and the metrics your team cares about — availability, performance, event thresholds, and alerts.

Handover and training session
Every engagement concludes with a dedicated training session for your team covering day-to-day operations, adding new devices, interpreting dashboards, managing alerts, and accessing support. We make sure your team is confident before we hand over the keys.

All engagements include the open-source NMIS core platform plus commercial licenses for two FirstWave modules: opCharts (visualisation and dashboarding module) and opEvents (event management and correlation module). Both opCharts and opEvents licenses are required and will be arranged as part of the engagement. Additional FirstWave modules may also be incorporated upon request.
