What I like most is its incredible speed and reliability when transferring large files. Transfers happen quickly without interruptions, and the security features give me confidence that my data is safe. The interface is simple, and sharing files with others is very smooth. What do you dislike about the product?

While IBM Aspera on Cloud works very well overall, there are a few areas that could be improved. Sometimes the initial setup and configuration can feel a bit complex, especially for new users. A more beginner-friendly onboarding experience would make it even better. Additionally, the interface, although functional, could be more modern and intuitive in certain areas. Improving navigation and simplifying some features would enhance the overall user experience. That said, these are relatively minor compared to the platform's performance, and it still does an excellent job for fast and secure file transfers.

I like IBM Aspera on Cloud for its unbeatable reliability and speed when it comes to transferring large files, like raw video, project datasets, and client deliverables, even over long distances across Europe and beyond. The transfer process is fast and stable, far superior to our old tools like FTP and standard cloud storage, which had file-size limits and slow speeds. Its enterprise-grade security features, such as strong encryption, detailed audit trails, granular permissions, and secure sharing links, fully support GDPR compliance in Germany. This security gives us peace of mind when handling sensitive client data, and it's crucial for maintaining productivity and client trust. The combination of core performance and rock-solid security features makes it irreplaceable for our B2B operations.

What do you dislike about the product?

We find the onboarding and client-side setup can be tricky in strict corporate network environments. Firewall settings, endpoint configuration, and getting the transfer protocol working reliably often require IT support, which slows down collaboration with external partners. The initial setup was doable but definitely on the technical side—not something a regular non-technical user could handle on their own. Our IT team had to configure storage integrations, SSO, firewall rules, and user permissions, which took time and expertise, especially in our secure German corporate network. A more zero-configuration experience for end users would be a big improvement. I think modernizing the user interface into a simpler, more intuitive design would help too. Reducing the number of clicks for daily tasks and adding clearer tooltips would make it much easier for less technical staff and external clients to use without training.

The FASP protocol it uses delivers speeds up to 100 times faster than FTP/HTTP over any distance, which is great for minimizing latency for massive datasets like media or backups that are critical for global teams.

I don't like the pricing model of IBM Aspera on Cloud. The usage-based pricing can be surprising, especially with spikes during heavy transfers. It becomes expensive for small teams compared to competitors.
