Overview
Cost Optimization On Demand from CloudAI is a 2-week AWS cost optimization sprint that produces a quantified savings forecast, an executable action backlog with owners and effort estimates, and the lightweight FinOps practices needed to sustain savings month over month. It is designed to be run on demand—once when you need a quick reset, or quarterly as your standing FinOps cadence—not as a 12-month FinOps transformation.
Our consultants analyze your AWS cost drivers across compute, storage, data transfer, managed services, and licensing. We assess tagging and chargeback readiness, identify instance and storage right-sizing opportunities using AWS Compute Optimizer, AWS Cost Explorer, and AWS Trusted Advisor, model your commitment strategy across Savings Plans and Reserved Instances, evaluate data lifecycle policies, and surface autoscaling opportunities you may not be capturing today. Where it matters, we also flag architecture changes—AWS Graviton migrations, AWS Lambda power tuning, S3 storage class transitions, and AWS Auto Scaling tuning—that reduce cost while improving performance and reliability rather than trading one for the other.
The deliverables are deliberately built to be acted on, not filed. You get a savings forecast in real dollars by category and account, an action backlog where every item has an owner, an effort estimate, and an expected savings value, and a lightweight FinOps practice—dashboards, anomaly alerts via AWS Cost Anomaly Detection, and a 30-minute monthly cost review cadence—so the savings don't drift back the next quarter. No 200-page PDF. A backlog your team can start working on Monday.
This professional services offering is delivered against, and integrates with, the following AWS services: AWS Cost Explorer (cost analysis and forecasting), AWS Compute Optimizer (right-sizing recommendations), AWS Trusted Advisor (cost-optimization checks), AWS Savings Plans and Reserved Instances (commitment strategy), AWS Budgets and AWS Budget Actions (guardrails), AWS Cost Anomaly Detection (drift detection), AWS Cost and Usage Report with Amazon Athena and Amazon QuickSight (FinOps reporting), AWS Organizations (consolidated billing and cost allocation), AWS Resource Groups and Tag Editor (tagging remediation), Amazon S3 Storage Lens and S3 Lifecycle policies, Amazon EBS snapshot lifecycle, AWS Auto Scaling and Application Auto Scaling, AWS Graviton (architecture-shift recommendations), AWS Lambda Power Tuning, and AWS License Manager. The engagement is one component of the broader CloudAI Cloud Optimization portfolio and is designed to interoperate cleanly with our Cloud Governance, Service Catalog & Definition, and Cloud Security Posture services—so the cost allocation tags and showback dashboards we build here become permanent infrastructure in your operating model, not throwaway artifacts.
Three engagement tiers are available—On-Demand Sprint, Standard, and Enterprise Continuous—scaled by the size of your AWS estate and whether you want a one-time reset or a standing quarterly cadence. We deliver against fixed scope, with milestone-based variable payments available for the Enterprise Continuous tier. Pricing shown reflects typical engagement sizes; final pricing is confirmed via a private offer after a scoping call. Where eligible, AWS Partner funding programs may offset some or all of the engagement cost—we will tell you in the scoping call whether your account qualifies.
Why customers choose CloudAI Cost Optimization On Demand:
- Sprints, not transformations. Two weeks in, savings forecast and action backlog out. Run it once, run it quarterly, run it after every major release—the cadence is yours.
- An executable backlog, not a report. Every recommendation has an owner, an effort estimate, and a dollar value attached. Engineering teams know what to do; finance teams know what to expect.
- Cost, performance, and reliability—together. We won't recommend a change that breaks production. AWS Graviton, autoscaling tuning, and storage class transitions are sequenced to lower cost while improving the workload.
- FinOps without the overhead. A monthly 30-minute cost review, AWS Cost Anomaly Detection alerts, and a showback dashboard. No new tool to license. No 12-month roadmap.
- Savings that stick. Tag remediation and cost allocation become permanent infrastructure, so savings hold across releases and team turnover.
Highlights
- A 2-week AWS cost optimization sprint with concrete deliverables—a savings forecast in real dollars by category and account, and an action backlog where every item has an owner, an effort estimate, and an expected savings value. No 200-page PDF. A backlog your team can start working on Monday. Run the sprint once for a quick reset, or quarterly as your standing FinOps cadence to keep savings sticking.
- Full-stack AWS cost levers covered in a single engagement: instance and storage right-sizing via AWS Compute Optimizer and AWS Trusted Advisor, Savings Plans and Reserved Instance commitment modeling, S3 lifecycle and EBS snapshot policies, AWS Auto Scaling tuning, AWS Graviton and AWS Lambda Power Tuning architecture shifts, and AWS Cost Anomaly Detection setup—optimizing cost while improving performance and reliability.
- FinOps without the overhead. Tagging and chargeback readiness, AWS Cost Explorer and Amazon QuickSight showback dashboards built on the AWS Cost and Usage Report, and a 30-minute monthly cost review cadence—so engineers see their spend, finance sees the forecast, and savings stay locked in across releases. Optional AWS Partner funding may offset engagement cost for eligible customers; ask in the scoping call.
