Overview
This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for support.Valkey Cluster is a distributed in-memory data system designed for high performance, scalability, and high availability. It works by splitting data across multiple nodes using a technique called hash slot partitioning, where the keyspace is divided into 16,384 slots and each slot is assigned to a master node. Each master node stores a portion of the data and can have one or more replica nodes for backup and fault tolerance. If a master node fails, a replica automatically takes over to ensure the system remains available. The cluster allows horizontal scaling, meaning more nodes can be added to handle increased data and traffic. Clients connect to any node in the cluster, and if the requested data is on a different node, they are automatically redirected to the correct one. This architecture makes Valkey Cluster fast, reliable, and suitable for large-scale applications requiring distributed caching and data storage.
Highlights
- Valkey cluster enables horizontal scaling using data sharding
- Provides high availability with master replica architecture
- Automatic failover ensures minimal downtime
