Overview
Production Ready Ubuntu LTS with NGINX is a preconfigured Amazon Machine Image (AMI) designed to help organizations quickly deploy secure, reliable, and high-performance web infrastructure on AWS. Built on the latest Ubuntu LTS release, this image includes NGINX pre-installed and optimized for production workloads, making it ideal for hosting websites, static content, REST APIs, reverse proxy services, load balancing, and modern web applications. The AMI provides a clean, vendor-neutral foundation that can be customized for a wide range of deployment scenarios without unnecessary software or domain-specific configuration.
The image is configured using production best practices, including optimized NGINX settings, disabled server version disclosure, security-focused HTTP headers, automatic Ubuntu security updates, log rotation, and a sample NGINX site configuration. It is designed to work seamlessly with AWS Security Groups and supports integration with SSL/TLS certificates, custom domains, Docker, Kubernetes, PHP, Python, Node.js, Java, Go, and other application platforms. No SSL certificates, application code, or customer-specific settings are included, allowing each deployment to be configured according to organizational requirements.
This AMI is suitable for enterprises, startups, developers, DevOps engineers, system administrators, managed service providers (MSPs), and cloud architects who need a secure and scalable web server foundation. It reduces deployment time, simplifies infrastructure setup, and provides a consistent, production-ready environment for development, staging, and production workloads. Comprehensive documentation is included to guide customers through web server configuration, application deployment, reverse proxy setup, and optional HTTPS configuration using their own domain and SSL certificates.

64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
Usage Instructions
- Launch an EC2 instance using this AMI.
- Ensure your EC2 Security Group allows inbound traffic on the required ports (22 for SSH, 80 for HTTP, and 443 for HTTPS if SSL is configured).
- Connect to the instance using SSH with your AWS key pair.
- Verify that the NGINX service is running using sudo systemctl status nginx.
