MCP
Overview
The Outreach MCP Server connects AI assistants and agents to your Outreach AI Revenue Platform, enabling natural-language access to accounts, prospects, opportunities, sequences, emails, calendar events, Kaia call recordings, and users — all under the signed-in user's identity and permissions.
Prerequisites
- An active Outreach license with API access
- An MCP-enabled client (Claude, OpenAI ChatGPT/Codex, AWS or any MCP-compatible AI agent)
- OAuth 2.1 Dynamic Client Registration
Connection setup
- In your MCP-enabled client, add a new MCP server connection.
- Enter the server URL: <https://api.outreach.io/mcp>
- Sign in with your Outreach credentials when prompted. The OAuth 2.1 flow redirects you to Outreach for consent, then back to your client.
- Authorize the requested scopes.
Once connected, the AI agent can discover and call Outreach tools on your behalf.
Capabilities
The server exposes tools across these domains:
- Search and retrieval — accounts, prospects, opportunities, sequences, mailings, calendar events, Kaia call recordings, users
- Workflow actions — add prospects to sequences, log activities, update opportunity stages, create tasks
- Discovery — list opportunity stages, sequence templates, available users
All actions run under the authenticated user's Outreach identity and respect their role-based permissions.
Example prompts
- "Help me prepare for my next call with Acme"
- "Generate a best practice guide for each feature discussed in the last meeting with Acme"
- "What sequences from our customer conference have the best reactions, and what are they?"
- "Tell me Contoso's concerns around our solution and how I should combat that?"
The agent plans, calls the right Outreach tools, and returns results.
Authentication
- OAuth 2.1 Dynamic Client Registration
- Sessions remain active as long as refresh tokens are honored by your Outreach instance
- All requests run on behalf of the signed-in user — no shared service accounts
Known limitations
- Write operations are subject to your Outreach role-based permissions
- Rate limits follow standard Outreach API quotas
