HyperSphere DNA protects your data even after a successful cyber attack. Deploying transparently with existing S3-compatible applications, it ensures stolen data remains unusable even if cloud infrastructure or storage credentials are compromised.

    Overview

Traditional cybersecurity focuses on stopping attackers getting in. But no organisation can prevent every breach. HyperSphere DNA takes a fundamentally different approach by ensuring stolen data remains unusable, even if attackers compromise your cloud environment or storage credentials. Cyber criminals do not steal data because they want your files. They steal it because it can be sold, exploited and turned into cash. Deploying transparently inside your own cloud environment, HyperSphere DNA sits between your applications and any S3-compatible object storage. Applications continue using standard S3 APIs with no code changes while every object is automatically protected before it reaches storage. With HyperSphere DNA, compromising cloud infrastructure or storage credentials alone is not enough to recover usable data. This helps organisations reduce the operational impact of cyber attacks while supporting security and compliance requirements. Available in Developer, Team, Business, Capacity and Enterprise/Government editions. Documentation: https://www.hyperspheretech.com/docs/HyperSphere_DNA_for_AWS_Deployment_Guide.pdf

    Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    Additional details

    Usage instructions

HyperSphere DNA deploys as a single virtual machine instance inside your cloud environment. It acts as an S3 compatible encryption proxy: your application writes to HyperSphere DNA using standard S3 API calls, and every object is encrypted with before being stored in your own object storage bucket. No plaintext ever leaves the node. No encryption key is ever persisted.

STEP 1: SUBSCRIBE AND LAUNCH Subscribe to the tier that matches your workload. Launch the AMI into a private subnet. Attach the provided least-privilege IAM instance profile and a 50 GB encrypted gp3 EBS volume.

STEP 2: FIRST-BOOT CONFIGURATION SSH into the instance and the setup file. This activates your license, configures your storage target, sets up your OIDC identity provider (Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace, or Keycloak), configures Nginx with TLS, and starts the service(s).

STEP 3: UNSEAL After every reboot, supply the required number of key shares (minimum 4): Repeat for each custodian until the threshold is met.

STEP 4: CREATE A VAULT AND CONNECT YOUR APPLICATION Use the bundled web console or ssctl CLI to create a vault and attach your storage target. Point your application's S3 endpoint see after deployment.
