Overview
Kong API Gateway and AI Gateway packaged by Code Creator is a ready to launch AWS Marketplace AMI designed for developers, platform teams, SaaS builders, and technical organizations that want a self hosted API gateway running directly inside their own AWS account.
This product provides a modern Kong community edition deployment on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS using Docker Compose and PostgreSQL. It includes a public-IP landing page, first-boot IP automation, a working demo API route, and customer friendly helper commands for status checks, logs, restart, backup, configuration export, and AI gateway setup.
The AMI includes an AI Gateway starter workflow using Kongs bundled AI Proxy plugin. Customers can configure an OpenAI-compatible AI proxy route after launch using their own provider API key. No AI provider key is bundled with the AMI.
For security, Kong proxy traffic is available publicly on the recommended gateway ports, while the Kong Admin API is restricted to localhost by default. Customers can manage the gateway through SSH, local helper commands, and optional SSH tunneling to the local Admin API.
This product is useful for API routing, gateway testing, internal API mediation, microservices traffic management, AI traffic proxy workflows, development environments, staging environments, and self hosted gateway deployments inside AWS.
Included features: Kong community edition 3.9.1 Ubuntu 26.04 LTS Docker Compose deployment PostgreSQL backend Public landing page Working demo route through Kong AI Gateway starter helper First boot public IP automation Backup and configuration export helpers Localhost only Kong Admin API Customer friendly command line helpers
This product does not include a third-party public Kong administration GUI by default. This reduces public attack surface compared with older GUI first deployments and keeps the AMI focused on a cleaner, more secure API and AI gateway foundation.
This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges are applied for the deployment of the application and AMI support and compliance.
