Domotz Delivered a True Single Pane of Glass...and Efficiency Gains

    Reviewed on Apr 28, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I’ll be honest: I don’t typically write software reviews. My schedule doesn't usually allow for it, and most tools simply do "just enough" to get by. However, our experience with Domotz has been so transformative, and their team has been such an incredible partner in tailoring development to our specific needs, that I felt compelled to share our story. If you are trying to scale a complex infrastructure, you need to read this.

Before implementing Domotz, my company was trapped in a multitude of tools nightmare. We were relying on homegrown systems developed over a decade ago that simply couldn't keep up with our growth. We had zero visibility into critical hardware, our inventory tracking was manual and unrelialbe, and our troubleshooting process often involved "best guesses" that resulted in massive shipping costs and unnecessary subcontractor visits.

Domotz has provided us with the elusive "Single Pane of Glass." It consolidated a fragmented bunch of tools (PowerBI, UISP, OVRC, various device GUIs, etc) into one streamlined interface. The impact on our onboarding and daily operations was immediate. We went from going into individual devices, to having rich, real-time data at our fingertips.
The data speaks for itself...since rolling out the Domotz pilot, we’ve seen astronomical improvements in our operational efficiency:

    • In 2025, we spent over $65k on shipping for service tickets. We discovered that 61% of returned assets were actually unused, a byproduct of precautionary shipping because we couldn't virtually troubleshoot. Domotz has already begun to eliminate this guesswork.

    • We have saved multiple subcontractor trips by identifying IP conflicts, ISP faults, actual root cause device issues (vs what we thought) instantly. Savings for us in ‘26are forecasted to be in excess of another $75k.

    • We used Domotz speedtest data to prove an ISP was underperforming at many of our clients. Correcting it improved SLA response time, and customer happiness, considerably

    • Yes I should Mac whitelist my devices, but I’m not there yet, and some idiot is always going to try to unplug my devices and plug theirs in. We’ve already been notified multiple times of unauthorized devices connected to our networks, allowing us to secure ports instantly.

    • The sheer volume of data Domotz pulls from thousands of endpoints is a goldmine for our operations. We are now ingesting this natively into our data lake to move beyond simple monitoring and into true predictive failure analysis. We are in the early stages of identifying trends and hardware fatigue before they result in a outage. On top of that, their new MCP tool looks to be absolutely amazing and we can’t wait to play with it more.

    • A bit of a repeat from above, but the most significant shift for our team has been moving from “educated guessing” to definitive root cause analysis. Before Domotz, we were often throwing hardware at a problem, shipping routers or switches just in case, because we couldn't see the full picture. Now, with corollary device data and history, we can instantly pinpoint the failures. This visibility has turned minutes/hours of tedious troubleshooting and log pulls into minutes of precise action, effectively ending the era of precautionary shipping and unnecessary subcontractor visits.

    • And, akin to the above point, before Domotz, a ticket would generate on our board via our legacy methods for a device/status issue. We would obviously have to monitor that ticket, and even if it “self-healed,” it would still take more than 7 minutes per ticket to document and close it out. But after connecting our PSA up to Domotz, with the native ability to close self-heal tickets, this has reduced ticket volume by 35%. At our scale, that is massive savings.

    • It’s not just the software…it’s the partnership...Domotz has shown a genuine commitment to our success, helping us build out custom integrations and even adjusting their development roadmap to ensure we remain versatile. Their Sales, Customer Support, Dev and Support teams are knowledgeable, quick to respond, understanding…amazing to work with.

    • Honestly, this saves me a couple of FTE's per year, so their pricing is more than fair for what I get.

If you are operating on archaic, or disjointed tools, you are losing money in shipping, labor, and downtime. Domotz has moved us from reactive firefighting to proactive, data-driven management. It is the single best investment we’ve made for our portfolio-wide rollout.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is very little to dislike, as the tool has solved nearly every visibility gap we had. If I had to pick something, the sheer volume of data and the depth of the feature set (like the new MCP tool) means there is a learning curve to ensure you are utilizing every "goldmine" of information available. It isn’t a "plug and play and forget it" tool if you want the full ROI, you need to be prepared to actually engage with the data it provides to see the massive financial benefits.

The only other CON I have is that new features/UI updates get released without much of a warning. I generally have to scramble a bit to update my procedures and/or train on new functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
    I'm repeating myself here, but:

Domotz has solved our "multitude of tools" purgatory by consolidating a fragmented tech stack into a single, streamlined interface. Before implementation, we suffered from zero visibility into critical hardware, unreliable manual inventory tracking, and a troubleshooting process based on "best guesses."

    Key Benefits & Problem Solving:

Elimination of "Precautionary Shipping": We previously spent over $65k annually on shipping, only to find that 61% of returned assets were unused. Domotz allows for virtual troubleshooting, eliminating the need to ship "just in case" hardware.

Reduced Field Costs: By identifying IP conflicts and ISP faults remotely, we have saved multiple subcontractor trips, with forecasted savings exceeding $75k for 2026.

Automated Ticket Management: Integrating our PSA with Domotz allowed for the auto-closing of "self-healing" tickets, reducing our overall ticket volume by 35%.

Security & Oversight: We are now alerted to unauthorized devices instantly, allowing us to secure ports immediately.

ISP Accountability: We use speedtest data to hold ISPs accountable for underperformance, which has directly improved our SLA response times and customer satisfaction.

Predictive Maintenance: We are moving from reactive firefighting to predictive failure analysis by ingesting Domotz's endpoint data into our data lake to identify hardware fatigue before outages occur.

Ultimately, Domotz has shifted our operations from educated guessing to definitive root cause analysis, saving us significant capital in shipping, labor, and downtime.

A powerful, MSP-friendly network monitoring and visibility platform

    Reviewed on Dec 12, 2025
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Domotz provides excellent real-time visibility into client networks with very little overhead. Deployment is quick and straightforward, and once in place it delivers immediate value through device discovery, monitoring, and alerting. The interface is clean and easy to navigate, making it simple for engineers to understand network layouts and identify issues quickly.

From an MSP perspective, the breadth of features is strong without being overly complex. SNMP monitoring, topology mapping, remote access, and integrations into our wider toolset all work well. Domotz is used frequently by our team, particularly for proactive monitoring and fault diagnosis, and it has become a core part of our day-to-day operations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some advanced configuration options and custom alerting require a bit of tuning to avoid noise, especially in more complex environments. Certain vendor-specific features could be expanded further, but Domotz continues to improve coverage and capabilities with regular updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Domotz solves the challenge of gaining consistent visibility across diverse client networks. It replaces reactive troubleshooting with proactive monitoring, allowing us to detect issues before they impact users. This has reduced downtime, improved response times, and given us far better insight into what is happening on client networks without requiring intrusive tooling.

For the business, Domotz supports scalable service delivery by standardising network monitoring across customers, improving efficiency for engineers, and enhancing the overall quality of service we provide.

    My team actually uses it!

What do you like best about the product?
It not a product with mid level resources that they are shying away from using unlike Auvik. They are compelled to use it more. The platform is definitely designed for much smaller businesses (i like) but I can see it scaling too.
What do you dislike about the product?
No API integration for configuration items. The PSA notifications contain really vague titles.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides an easy way to audit all devices on the network and manage the ones you want Domotz to monitor. I got the platform for several reasons:
    1) No one was using Auvik. I couldn't justify the price.
    2) We lost the introduction/notification and adoption of devices when switching from Datto RMM and Ninja. Domotz notifies us of those new rogue devices.
    3) I did not feel we had a sense of what was going on in the environment until we made the switch.

Domotz works amazing for monitoring network devices

What do you like best about the product?
Domotz alerts me when devices are down. The notifications are customizable.

It is seamless to log into the Domotz portal and see what devices are connected to what network port on a switch. This has been extremely useful when diagnosing an issue.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not ran into something that Domotz doesn't offer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest issues I have ran into were getting notified when a device is down and where the device is located in the work. Domotz provides the exact network port where the device is located.

Domotz also does configuration backups on network switches. I dont worry about where I am going to keep backups. I am also able to power cycle PoE ports on switches.

Great monitoring solution for smaller businesses.

What do you like best about the product?
Since implementing Domotz, we have been able to be alerted on any asset that plugs into our network that hasn't already been categorized. This has allowed us to react quickly to determine if the asset is allowed.

One of my favorite features is the ability to easily tell which device is plugged into what switch port for faster troubleshooting. It also backs up our switch configurations and always for monitoring of changes in configs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The topology mapper is nice, but it can show inaccurate results at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the biggest things is not knowing what's connected to your network. We are monitoring all of our VLANs and get alerted within seconds of a new device connected to our network. This allows IT to respond on whether or not it is a company owned asset.

We are also alerted when any switch configuration is changed and have automated backups.
