Overview
Hyperion is a complete, BPMN v2-compliant Business Process Management platform for designing, executing, managing, and optimizing business processes. Built on the open-source Eclipse Dirigible low-code platform and packaged as a standalone Spring Boot application, Hyperion uses the proven Flowable engine as its BPM runtime to deliver reliable workflow orchestration and human task management.
With Hyperion, teams model processes visually using standard BPMN 2.0 diagrams, then execute them directly on the integrated engine - no separate runtime to provision. A dedicated Operations perspective provides real-time monitoring, performance metrics, and bottleneck identification so process owners can continuously improve throughput and efficiency.
Hyperion is more than a workflow engine. It includes a full in-browser development environment for building the applications that surround your processes: server-side JavaScript and TypeScript APIs on a GraalVM runtime (ES modules and CommonJS), client-side UIs with Angular, React, or Vue.js, an integrated debugger with breakpoints, a database administration perspective, and built-in Git version control. This lets developers tightly integrate BPM logic with custom business applications and existing systems.
Enterprise-ready out of the box, Hyperion supports user and role-based security with federated authentication (SAML, OpenID/Keycloak, Cognito), and is designed for cloud-native deployment via Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS ECS. Whether you are automating approvals, orchestrating long-running workflows, or building process-driven applications, Hyperion provides a single, integrated foundation.
Key use cases: workflow and approval automation, process orchestration, BPMN modeling and simulation, process monitoring and optimization, and process-driven application development.

Container image
Containers are lightweight, portable execution environments that wrap server application software in a filesystem that includes everything it needs to run. Container applications run on supported container runtimes and orchestration services, such as Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) or Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS). Both eliminate the need for you to install and operate your own container orchestration software by managing and scheduling containers on a scalable cluster of virtual machines.
