Overview
The FamilyTrac Surveillance Suite is a configurable SaaS platform purpose-built for public health agencies managing disease surveillance and case investigation. It replaces fragmented legacy systems (NEDSS Base System, Access databases, Silverlight applications, etc.) with a unified AWS-hosted solution spanning electronic case reporting (eCR), electronic lab reporting (eLR), and multi-program coordination across ELC, EHDI, newborn screening, vital records, and other programs. Designed as a FHIR-native platform, FamilyTrac processes modern public health data formats without translation layers, enabling real-time data ingestion, automated person matching, and configurable workflows.
The platform runs on AWS with Auto Scaling Groups and AES-256 encryption via AWS KMS, with optional dedicated AWS Landing Zones for agencies requiring strict tenant isolation. Core capabilities include S3 event-driven FHIR ingestion (live for eCR and newborn screening today), person-centric case management with automated matching, configurable workflows, and analytics and reporting. With SOC 2 Type II certification, HIPAA compliance, and AWS-native infrastructure, FamilyTrac reduces infrastructure burden while enabling agencies to focus on improving public health outcomes.
FamilyTrac is implemented through a phased approach that allows agencies to run parallel operations before transitioning fully from legacy systems. This minimizes disruption while delivering rapid value. Ongoing support includes dedicated account management, continuous updates, and alignment with evolving public health and AWS standards.

Vendor support
FamilyTrac provides a comprehensive support model designed to ensure successful implementation and long-term operational success for public health agencies. Support begins during deployment with a structured, phased implementation approach that includes parallel operation alongside existing systems, configuration of workflows and data pipelines, and guided transition to full production use. Post-deployment support includes a dedicated account manager, providing direct access to the product and engineering teams. Customers receive multi-channel support via email, phone, and virtual meetings, as well as access to an in-application ticketing system for issue tracking and resolution. Training resources include onboarding sessions, user documentation, and video walkthroughs to enable both technical and program staff.
FamilyTrac operates under tiered Service Level Agreements (SLAs), including a 99.5% monthly uptime target, defined response times, and recovery objectives (RPO under 1 hour, RTO under 2 hours). The platform is continuously updated through a SaaS delivery model, ensuring customers benefit from new features, security enhancements, and regulatory updates without requiring manual upgrades or additional infrastructure.
Aligned Technology Group (ATG), an AWS Advanced Partner, supports AWS infrastructure provisioning, DevOps, monitoring, and security operations. This partnership ensures that deployments follow AWS best practices and align with public sector compliance and scalability requirements.
Regular quarterly business reviews are conducted to align platform usage with evolving program needs, ensuring continuous improvement and long-term value realization.
