Overview
Why Teams Struggle With Custom Software Operations
Development and operation of custom software solutions bring operational and organisational challenges that slow product delivery. Common pain points include:
- Inefficient development processes - manual steps, inconsistent environments, and slow feedback loops
- Lack of standardisation - every team reinvents infrastructure patterns, creating drift and technical debt
- Security and compliance gaps - ad-hoc controls that fail audits and increase risk exposure
- Knowledge silos - tribal knowledge locked in individuals rather than codified in platform tooling
- Rising infrastructure costs - unoptimized resources and duplicated effort across teams
- Low developer satisfaction - engineers spend time on undifferentiated toil instead of product features
How jambit Gets Your Applications to Production
The jambit Internal Developer Platform delivers a production-ready, managed Kubernetes environment on AWS EKS following a structured engagement model:
Phase 1: Discovery and Assessment (Weeks 1-3) We assess your existing landscape, application requirements, compliance needs, and team structure. Deliverables include a platform architecture blueprint, migration roadmap, and security controls mapping.
Phase 2: Platform Provisioning (Weeks 4-8) We deploy and configure your dedicated IDP on AWS EKS using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). This includes GitOps-based deployment pipelines, integrated observability (logging, metrics, tracing), RBAC and network policies, secrets management, and image scanning. All infrastructure is codified and version-controlled.
Phase 3: Team Onboarding and Handover (Weeks 9-12) We onboard your development teams to the platform with hands-on training, documentation, and self-service workflows. Typical time-to-production for a new team is approximately 3 months from engagement start.
Ongoing Managed Operations (Optional) After handover, jambit can provide continued platform management including upgrades, patching, incident response, and capacity planning through our40-person platform engineering team.
What Is Included - Batteries Included Principle
- Managed AWS EKS clusters with automated upgrades and patching
- GitOps-based continuous deployment (automated rollbacks, audit-ready change logs)
- Full observability stack (metrics, logging, distributed tracing, alerting)
- Infrastructure as Code with Terraform for reproducible environments
- Integrated security controls: RBAC, network policies, image scanning, secrets management
- Developer self-service portal for namespace provisioning and pipeline creation
- Documentation and runbooks for operational handover
Security and Compliance
jambit holds ISO 27001 certification and TISAX AL3 with labels for Very High Availability, Protection of Prototype Parts and Components, and Strictly Confidential. Platform security practices include:
- Encryption at rest and in transit
- RBAC andOIDC-based identity integration
- Network policies for workload isolation
- Automated vulnerability scanning of container images
- Audit logging for all platform and deployment changes
Use Case: Regulated Industries With Microservices at Scale
Teams of 5-50 developers managing10+ microservices in regulated environments (automotive, fintech, healthcare) benefit most from the jambit IDP. If your organisation needs compliant CI/CD pipelines, standardised deployment patterns, and reduced operational overhead without building a platform team from scratch, this engagement is designed for you.
Prerequisites and Scope
- AWS account with appropriate permissions for EKS provisioning
- Buyer designates a technical point of contact for discovery and onboarding
- Supported AWS regions: EU (Frankfurt, Ireland) - additional regions on request
- Scope covers platform infrastructure and developer tooling; application-layer code and business logic remain the buyer's responsibility
- Minimum engagement duration: 3 months (assessment through onboarding)
