Intercept is an agentless, managed external-facing exposure assessment service that provides customers with rapid visibility into their external cyber risk. The service is delivered first as a baseline assessment and then as an ongoing monthly managed service. During the baseline assessment, Edgewater conducts open-source intelligence gathering, asset visibility assessment, dark web monitoring, threat intelligence reporting, external attack surface discovery, non-credentialed vulnerability assessment, and risk-based prioritization across internet-facing IT, OT, cloud, and third-party environments.

Following the baseline assessment, Edgewater’s managed service provides ongoing monitoring, scanning, trend analysis, reporting, and remediation guidance across the same exposure areas. Intercept identifies risks from the adversary’s point of view, prioritizes findings based on likelihood, impact, known exploited vulnerabilities, active threat indicators, and delivers both executive-level summaries and detailed technical findings with clear mitigation recommendations.

Because Intercept is delivered as a managed service, customers do not need to install software, provide internal system access, or place additional burden on their teams. Edgewater combines automated discovery with operator-led analysis to help customers understand which exposures matter most, how their risk is changing over time, and what actions can reduce risk quickly. The service supports federal cyber priorities including EO 14028, FISMA, NIST, C2M2, and Zero Trust while strengthening audit readiness, cyber maturity, and long-term mission assurance.
