Unified wireless access has supported diverse users and simplified network operations
What is our primary use case?
I currently use Arista products, including Arista wireless solutions like CVQ and Agni solutions, which come with a AAA server, as well as ClearPass from Aruba. I am using Arista Networks Platform for wireless connectivity, specifically for OT devices, IoT devices, guest users, and corporate users authentication.
What is most valuable?
If I compare Arista Networks Platform with the Cisco Meraki solution, which is similar to Arista CVQ solution, I find that Arista Networks Platform is much simpler. It has a clean dashboard page with only useful options that do not include unnecessary tabs or features that customers mostly don't want to use.
The operational efficiency with Arista Networks Platform is similar to what other vendors provide. I don't see any special advantages; they offer a similar range of features. Their licensing model is easier to install and operate compared to other vendors.
What needs improvement?
I found that Arista Networks Platform could improve by introducing a feature that combines configuration for both switches and access points into a single portal. Currently, you need to juggle between two different interfaces—one for the CVQ portal for access point configuration and another called CloudVision for switch configuration. A single interface for end-to-end wireless solutions would simplify the experience.
I would assess CloudVision 's impact on my network's control and visibility as okay but not exceptional compared to Cisco solutions like the Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller. It is much more optimizable for traditional users; however, you still need to know the command line configuration to push configurations smartly using CloudVision. The advantage is that it provides a single interface to control the entire infrastructure, which is beneficial.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Arista Networks Platform for the last six months. I don't have much experience with Arista networking overall, but I have been using Arista's new solution, CVQ, which is their wireless solution, for about six or seven months.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
To future-proof my network with Arista Networks Platform, I see that it's essential to opt for high-end Arista hardware, especially as they introduce GPU-based switches and 400-gigabit or 800-gigabit switches. Many people currently use traditional CPU-based solutions but face scalability limitations for multi-billion packets per second; Arista Networks Platform's focus on GPU-based and high-speed switches is a smart move for next-generation AI-based data center solutions.
How are customer service and support?
I find the technical support from Arista to be quite responsive. I would rate the support from Arista as a 7 or 7.5 out of 10.
How was the initial setup?
I did not face any difficulties or challenges during the implementation; it was straightforward.
The deployment for Arista Networks Platform took just a few hours for the logical configuration, while the physical deployment depends on the engineers. From a logical point of view, it took only a few hours to deploy.
The completion of deployment for Arista Networks Platform depends on the scenario, but generally, one person is more than enough to handle logical deployment.
What about the implementation team?
I personally participated in the deployment of Arista Networks Platform, as I designed and deployed it.
What was our ROI?
Arista Networks Platform does provide a return on investment and cost reductions, depending on the deployment type. For a leaf-and-spine deployment, there are opportunities to optimize costs, but not for a three-tier architecture. The advantage of using CloudVision is that it helps optimize operational costs, and when compared to other vendors with high-performance hardware in the data center solutions, Arista Networks Platform offers a moderate price, which is favorable for any customer.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
As for the licensing model of Arista Networks Platform, I would describe it as moderate—neither too expensive nor too cheap compared to Cisco.
What other advice do I have?
I do work with Arista Networks Platform. Arista Networks Platform has its own cloud fabric solution, and they don't depend on someone else. I purchased Arista Networks Platform directly from the vendor. I have used Arista's EOS for automation. I don't really use Arista's telemetry features, as we depend on third-party solutions for that, but they do have telemetry features in CloudVision. My experience with analytics in Arista Networks Platform shows that they currently provide reactive maintenance rather than proactive solutions. I would rate this review an 8 out of 10.
Automation and visibility have simplified data center operations and improved network control
What is our primary use case?
We are still using Arista Networks Platform as system integrators. We sold the product and my customer is using this product.
Mostly we sold Arista Networks Platform in data centers where customer core applications run on this platform.
We integrate Arista for our clients.
What is most valuable?
As a reseller and partner of Arista, the biggest advantages of Arista Networks Platform are ease of use, ease of configuration, and excellent support from Arista in terms of configuration.
There is Arista EOS for automation, and I have worked with this aspect. The automation aspect of Arista EOS provides zero-touch provisioning and automated discovery. This is very useful to us because any new product we integrate with Arista networking, such as adding one more switch, is automatically provisioned and configured automatically.
Regarding the CloudVision part, it is a visibility platform that impacts network control and visibility. The impact of CloudVision is significant. When there are vulnerabilities or patch upgrades or updates, we come to know automatically as a pop-up happens. Because of that, we were able to patch our product easily in a single click. Additionally, the entire network visibility in terms of ports, protocol, application, and how the traffic is flowing from endpoints to server is visible to us.
What needs improvement?
I see some areas for improvement, particularly with pricing.
I think that not all features that are needed are already in Arista. AI power is required nowadays. AI would be needed for understanding data traffic flowing in my network. Sometimes I have a vision of what data traffic is flowing in my network and I want to capture that data. Using AI, I can understand how my entire organization operates and what kind of applications are being used, what the peak times are, where there is a bottleneck if any exists. This kind of report should automatically generate and provide clear-cut visibility.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been dealing with Arista Networks Platform for almost more than five years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Arista Networks Platform is very stable. As per the latest vulnerability reports, Arista is the only IT product that has the minimum vulnerabilities, so it is a very stable product.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
In terms of scalability, Arista Networks Platform is very much scalable to the highest level of scalability.
How are customer service and support?
If I were to rate the support from zero to ten points, I would give it nine point five.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have evaluated some other products similar to Arista, such as Aruba.
How was the initial setup?
In terms of deployment and installation, it is very easy. It provides zero-touch provisioning installation. If we have complete prerequisites available from the customer, we have to pre-configure it into the software from CloudVision, then simply we have to push it from a single management console and each switch can be configured automatically.
What was our ROI?
It is possible to observe some return on investment with Arista. In the data center, there is no comparison in terms of technicality or return of investment. It is a very rugged product. We can say fill it, set it, and forget it.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Comparing Arista with Aruba, the products are not technically the same. In terms of data center switches, there is no comparison between Aruba and Arista because Arista provides very low latency in terms of data processing compared to any other brand available in the market. In campus networks, we are facing certain challenges in terms of availability of products as per customer requirement. When a customer requires particular ports, such as a twenty-four port and four-port ten gigabit SFP+ configuration, which is what the majority of people require, we sometimes face challenges in terms of port availability in switches and product availability. Maybe sometimes we have to quote a higher product compared to Aruba, which is impacting our business.
What other advice do I have?
Arista Networks Platform has the ability to future-proof my network against evolving tech landscapes in a timely manner. The people also upgrade and update the product, so we are getting new features.
It helps in predicting maintenance. When there are new patches, upgrades, and updates available, we can easily identify them as they automatically pop up and we can get notified that the patch is available. We can easily upgrade from there.
I see some metrics that improve network performance monitoring from the telemetry part. As per nowadays discussions about AI, if it could provide not only visibility but also observability, then it would be good.
If any problem or troubleshoot should occur, we can easily troubleshoot the same and can also predict it in the future.
I give this review an overall rating of nine out of ten.
Cloud-managed access points have simplified deployments and saved significant installation time
What is our primary use case?
Arista Networks Platform is used most often for access points and switches. When setting up an organization or infrastructure with Arista Networks Platform , we advise customers to purchase Arista for best coverage and switches. We deploy the switches to their data centers when setting up infrastructures.
What is most valuable?
I have been using Arista Networks Platform for three years now. Arista Networks Platform is easy to use, and after deployment of the access points, the dashboard makes it easy and convenient to use with easy navigation, which is excellent.
The access points on Arista Networks Platform operate in the cloud through the GUI where you operate the access points and perform all configurations for the access points on the platform.
In terms of performance with Arista Networks Platform, I would give it a perfect score as it has not failed me before. The only time I had an issue with Arista was when the access point went into rest mode, probably after a power outage in an infrastructure. After contacting Arista and attending an Arista program, I was guided through a solution via the Arista GUI, which I implemented, and since then, the performance has been excellent. In terms of security, I have no issues with Arista; it performs really well in terms of security. Arista Networks Platform is very convenient overall.
Arista Networks Platform has really boosted our organization to the extent that our organization does not want to think about any other platform except Arista in terms of access points and switches. We are just diving into the switch area.
In terms of time saved with Arista Networks Platform, the access points are easy to install and the switches are easy to install. I can install seven or eight access points in less than two hours. It is really easy to install and time-saving. In terms of cost, I think it is cost-efficient compared to others in the same field.

I do not have direct support experience with Arista Networks Platform as I have not had an issue requiring their support team. The only time I had an issue, I raised it with an Arista engineer during an Arista program that my company and Arista organized together. All network engineers from the organization were present in the program, and the Arista engineer provided a solution in less than five minutes. I was happy, they were happy, and the experience was great.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Before using Arista Networks Platform, we used a Cisco Linksys access point. We swapped it because we wanted time-saving efficiency, easy deployment, and cost-efficiency.
How was the initial setup?
The access points on Arista Networks Platform are easy to install and the switches are easy to install. I can install seven or eight access points in less than two hours. It is really easy to install and time-saving. In terms of cost, I think it is cost-efficient compared to others in the same field.
What about the implementation team?
My company and Arista organized the program together. In the program, all network engineers from the organization were present.
What was our ROI?
I have seen a return on investment from using Arista Networks Platform in terms of fewer employees needed during installation and deployment. I can go on-site to do the installation alone, which is easy and convenient. We save on employees and also save time because it is easy to install.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I do not handle the pricing for Arista Networks Platform as other departments handle the costing. I am a network engineer in my company.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Before choosing Arista Networks Platform, we considered using Fortinet.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate Arista Networks Platform a nine out of ten. I chose a nine out of ten for Arista Networks Platform because of the market, as they need to dive deeper into the Nigerian market. They are a good company, and I do not think they are doing well in that aspect, which is why I took off one point. I would advise others to purchase Arista Networks Platform and explore their products, their variety of products from access points to switches. I believe you would love their products. My company partners with Arista. Overall, I would give Arista Networks Platform a rating of nine out of ten.
Intuitive dashboard has reduced wireless deployment time and provides clear network visibility
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Arista Networks Platform is network security, network wireless, and network. Regarding a specific project where Arista Networks Platform helped me with network security and wireless, we had a project for a client to ensure wireless connectivity across the whole organization and we employed the use of Arista wireless APs. That was the use case for wireless.
What is most valuable?
The best features Arista Networks Platform offers are the intuitive dashboard and visibility. From the dashboard, you can easily see error logs to know when your APs are down and what the cause is and how to diagnose the situation.
Arista Networks Platform has impacted my organization positively by reducing the time taken to deploy a wireless solution in any organization or in any projects we have been on so far. Wireless deployment has become more efficient.
What needs improvement?
I cannot think of any areas where Arista Networks Platform needs improvement at this time.

Arista Networks Platform has been stable throughout my experience, with no issues to report.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Arista Networks Platform's scalability has been able to grow with my organization's needs.
How are customer service and support?
I have not reached out to customer support for Arista Networks Platform. However, I had the opportunity of talking to the engineers physically. I was able to meet one of the engineers physically, and the reception was quite nice and positive. I have not reached out to the customer care side of things.
How was the initial setup?
During the implementation of Arista Networks Platform, we initially got the configuration wrong on the dashboard. After receiving insights on how it was supposed to be properly configured, we corrected the issue. In the first instance when it was wrongly configured, we had an issue where whenever there was a power outage at the organization, the APs did not come back up and did not register again. We had to go to that organization to manually reboot the APs. After getting the configuration right, immediately following a power outage, the APs were able to register themselves as soon as the power was restored.
What was our ROI?
I saved between five to six hours using Arista Networks Platform, as it takes less time to actually add your APs to the dashboard and deployment is quite fast and easy.
What other advice do I have?
My advice for others looking into using Arista Networks Platform is that it is quite easy to set up and I would really recommend it. Arista Networks Platform has an intuitive dashboard which makes it all the more easier to work with and easily deploy solutions and navigate through. I would definitely recommend it. I have rated this review an 8.
Cloud-managed access points have improved visibility and security but have needed minor refinements
What is our primary use case?
Arista Networks Platform 's access points and switches serve as our main use case, with switches utilized for the data center and access points deployed for internet access across workspaces and team members in different businesses.
Arista Networks Platform 's access points are deployed more frequently compared to the switches. For example, we deployed a wireless LAN for a bank CEO in Nigeria at his house, and the access point deployment proved quite interesting because everything is managed in the cloud, which is unique when it comes to the deployment implementation for the access point.
This represents mostly the use case that we have within our company, especially when deploying Arista Networks Platform products.
What is most valuable?
The best features Arista Networks Platform offers are the dashboards where you can see all your APs that have been deployed and installed across all locations, making it quite unique to access, manage, and monitor performance from that dashboard.
The feedback from customers using Arista Networks Platform APs that we deployed has positively impacted our organization, as they have provided good service and a good customer experience compared to what they used before.
One feedback we received is regarding the security aspect of the APs, as customers were not receiving that level of security from the other solutions they were using. Additionally, customers were able to deploy fewer APs with Arista Networks Platform and it was quite enough to cover all the coverage points they needed with no blind spots.
What needs improvement?
We are good partners with Arista Networks Platform, and we believe they should continue what they are doing, which has been helpful for us as partners in pushing the product in this region.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been working with Arista Networks Platform for the past five years, and we can say it is stable and performing well.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
We have been working with Arista Networks Platform for the past five years, and we can say it is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We can easily scale up with Arista Networks Platform, as it is not difficult, and they have a platform that encourages scalability.
How are customer service and support?
Arista Networks Platform's customer support is quite responsive.
We would rate the customer support as a nine to 9.5 out of ten.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We switched to Arista Networks Platform after trying it out and seeing how good it is, moving from using a lot of Cisco devices and APs to selling more Arista Networks Platform, mostly Arista Networks Platform APs.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
There are other products, and when comparing products such as switches and routers to competitors such as Cisco, Cisco is still up there, but after Cisco, Arista Networks Platform is among the top network devices.
What other advice do I have?
We would advise others looking into using Arista Networks Platform to try it out by starting in a small network to see how effective and efficient it is, rather than implementing it on a large scale all at once. Our overall rating for this solution is 7.5 out of ten.
