AWS Elemental MediaLive Documentation
AWS Elemental MediaLive is a video processing service that enables video providers to encode live video streams for delivery to broadcast televisions and multiscreen devices. Used as a standalone service or integrated with other media services, MediaLive lets you control encoding parameters as you build live video workflows or create event-based live streams.
Video Standards Support
AWS Elemental MediaLive supports various video standards used to input, output, and archive live video.
Broadcast Capabilities for Live Video Streams
MediaLive is designed to support broadcast features like ad markers, closed captions, and multiple language audio tracks. MediaLive is also designed to work with AWS Elemental MediaConnect, providing transport of video to use as inputs to live channels.
Live video workflow monitor
The workflow monitor is designed to discover, visualize, and monitor the resources associated with a live video stream, broadcast, or distribution. It is designed to display the relationships between resources in a graphical signal map to help you see which resources are being used and how they are connected. You are enabled to create and apply metric alarm and notification templates to monitor your video and alert when issues arise.
Statistical Multiplexing (Statmux)
AWS Elemental Media Live Statistical Multiplexing (Statmux) enables you to process and originate live content and share it with distribution partners for delivery over satellite, cable, or terrestrial networks.
Resource Provisioning
AWS Elemental MediaLive helps you manage the encoding resources needed to deliver live video streams. It is designed to deploy encoding resources and help manage scaling, healing, resiliency failover, monitoring, and reporting.
Availability
Each live video channel you create with MediaLive is designed to run on redundant infrastructure. The service helps you monitor encoding resources for health and replaces any degraded components.
Workflows
MediaLive enables you to build linear workflows or event-based live streams. The service helps you to output a mix of live video streams at different resolutions and bitrates.
Use Independently or with other AWS Media Services
You can choose to use MediaLive as a standalone service or integrate it with AWS services for video transport, video-on-demand (VOD) processing, just-in-time packaging, ad personalization and monetization, or media-optimized storage.
