Amazon Redshift introduces concurrency scaling support for auto-copy

Posted on: Dec 29, 2025

Amazon Redshift announces the general availability of Amazon Redshift concurrency scaling support for Amazon auto-copy, enhancing the performance of auto-copy. This new feature combines the power of auto-copy's seamless data ingestion from Amazon S3 with the elasticity of concurrency scaling. It allows customers to automatically scale their auto-copy operations to meet increased demand without compromising performance.

This feature delivers performance benefits for customers with high-volume, time-sensitive data ingestion needs. The auto-copy feature continuously monitors your S3 buckets and automatically loads new data files into your tables, eliminating the need for manual data loading processes. When you turn on concurrency scaling, Amazon Redshift automatically adds additional cluster capacity to process an increase in both read and write queries. With auto-copy and concurrency scaling enabled, Redshift efficiently handles data ingestion while maintaining fast query performance during high-volume periods.

Concurrency scaling support for auto copy is now available for both Amazon Redshift Serverless and Amazon Redshift RA3 Provisioned data warehouses in all AWS commercial regions where auto-copy is Customers can start using this feature immediately to optimize their data ingestion workflows and improve overall system performance.
